A Program for Every Student
Yellow Wood Academy has many different kinds of programs to suit the needs of your student. Many of our students spend their whole day with us and come full-time. Others come only part-time, either as a reduced schedule or dual-enrolled. And some of our students are coming to us for one class, tutoring. Whatever program you decide is best for you and your student, we customize so it meets exactly what their needs are.
Full-Time Enrollment
Many of our students spend their entire school day with us, enabling them to deeply integrate into our school community. Beyond receiving personalized instruction in one-on-one sessions or small cohorts with our exceptional teachers, they actively engage in our structured homerooms, chosen clubs, and events.
Part-Time & Partnered Enrollment
We take joy in crafting flexible programs perfectly suited to our students. Some attend school on their own schedule with a personalized class load, while others combine our offerings with another school. Whether your child requires fewer classes than the traditional route or only needs to work with us for part of their day.
Single Class Enrollment
Frequently, students require our program in a more specific manner, and we are delighted to identify the exact class your child needs to enhance their education. Whether it's a class causing anxiety at another school, not meeting expectations, or unavailable elsewhere, our aim is to assist your child in achieving success.
Private or District Placed
As your family considers the right place for them - our school offers two choices. Families may seek private placements or district placement which is a partnership with their local district.
For families seeking a private school education, YWA stands ready to offer the optimal placement, supporting students in charting their individual paths to success. Our program serves as an unparalleled launching pad, equipping students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to pursue careers, trades, or higher education opportunities with unwavering determination and success.
Districts and the student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) team may choose to place a student at Yellow Wood Academy as we are a non-public agency (NPA). At YWA, we tailor our educational programs to each individual student. For some students, their program may include special education services outlined in their IEP managed by their district. Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) can be seamlessly integrated into students’ daily schedules. This means that students are not singled out and pulled from class in order to receive SDI; rather, students’ instructional “minutes” are built into their day.
